Is there such thing as a plan?

Where do I start!? Do I tell you about my original plan or jump into my first trimester? I'll start from the beginning.

I got engaged last June, and right after everyone was asking when's the wedding. After much thought, we chose to get married in 2 years. But, speed up to October 29th and BAM! I found out I was pregnant; nonetheless days before my favorite holiday. My first reaction wasn't a good one. Of course being a mother was always on my list, but I'm a planner! And this was for sure something planned after marriage.

I cried when the pregnancy test came out positive. I mean as women, we have our freak attacks and think were pregnant, even if were not. So, I thought when I took the test, it was going to be one of those thoughts again. But, behold it was NOT!

We went to the doctors to confirm, and sure enough, they said: "Congrats Adrianna, you're pregnant!." Alex was with me and excited even from the beginning. It was hard for him to register why I wasn't as excited, and the main reason was fear! I mean becoming responsible for another life is no joke. And the other reason was because I've been raised with the notion that kids come after marriage, so I felt ashamed.

After I told my parents and a few friends, I felt immensely better. They were so supportive; my shame faded. I couldn't say the same about fear because that comes and goes. But, the more real things became, the more excited I would get.

We live in a new day and age, and we shouldn't have to feel ashamed about getting pregnant out of wedlock. It's just something embedded in our brains since childhood. I especially shouldn't, being in my late 20's and all, but old habits die hard.

Today, I'm 24 weeks, and this baby boy is all I think about! My excitement grows every day.

What was your experience when you found out you were pregnant? Leave me a comment. : )

The 1st of November

It was just yesterday I was writing my post saying it was 2015, and now were in November.

Today, my mini vacation ends and so does my lazy streak! Now to start this "fall back" mindset right with the following fall staples.

I finally got a pumpkin to carve, which will be thanksgiving themed since halloween is over.

I haven't been forgetting to get my PSL, so I'm looking good there.

And today I made chili, how much "fall happy" can I be.

Below, I share my fashionable Halloween as Chanel Oberline from Scream Queens

it's 2015

Dress: French Connection Shoes: J.Crew Crown: Party City :)

The fact that it's 2015 is mind boggling. As I get older the years are just flying by. Im sure we all feel like that, but Alex and I have lived in our apartment for a year and it feels as if we just moved in and now we are moving again! I'm such a believer on new everything that moving into another new place seems like a reoccurring event. Even though Im thinking that our new place is going to be a keeper for years to come. As with any new year we create our new years resolutions and mine are as follows:
I hope to become more of a productive morning person and not waste the days on sleep. I for sure want to learn Italian or French and visit Paris. I also want to join a club or do some kind of active activity like dance. AND lastly, I want to use my money towards travel than on material things. (which i find is going to be the hardest to keep)

Words to live by: Don't waste your youth on mundane activities, live life to the fullest and try new things!

P.S I've had this sequin dress in my closet for over 5 years, and I have never worn it. There could be many reasons why I didn't, but on this new years it seemed so fitting to wear.

ART BASEL 2014

When I think of a day spent in Wynwood, I think of a day wandering the streets of New York.  There's always something new to try and see. With Basel, you see new art appearing right before your eyes. There were artist everywhere creating art on any canvas they can find. With the last photo, I can't wait to go back and see the end result.

Flashback Friday

It's always appropriate to post a flashback Friday when you have no new photos to post. I've been sitting on these photos for a while now and I always loved the shots of me in my favorite jeans and perfect striped shirt, which is my all time favorite thrifted find. It's outfits like this that remind me its all about good basics.

It's also appropriate when I want to talk about how much I miss my long hair. It's when you go through past photos that makes you miss the things you once had. Even though I don't have any regrets on cutting it, I just miss having the ability to do pretty braids and perfect buns.

Happy Friday!
