Sephora Haul Review

I had just finished my "No Spend Month" and what better way to reward myself than doing a Sephora Haul. I came to Sephora looking for an eye cream, a new dry shampoo and a texture spray that would work in this Florida heat. I only added 2 unintended items AND one has become my favorite beauty item of all. My "No Spend Month" kept me in check as you can tell. I'll be sharing my positives and negatives for each product. For the most part, they're good, but some not "Holy Grail" good.

Lets begin...

Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: This is now my go-to eye cream for "daytime". It's the perfect base for your concealer and it instantly brightens your under eyes. I believe it has a lot to do with its yellow-green coloring that helps counteract the purple in dark circles. It's also moisturizing which helps the application of your concealer go on smoother. After motherhood, I need all the under eye help I can get! My only negative is, it doesn't have any anti-aging properties which is why I recommend it as a daytime eye-cream.

DRYBAR Detox Dry Shampoo: What caught my attention was its rice powder formula & root lifting capabilities. I had never tried a rice powder dry shampoo and my hopes were that it wouldn't weigh my hair down like other dry shampoos. Now, I can definitely say rice powder is the way to go for me. Most dry shampoos have been too thick of a formula, that they've actually made my hair look dirty. With Dry Bar's Detox Dry Shampoo it makes my hair look clean and gives it volume. What more can you ask for in a dry shampoo? My negatives are the strong smell which thankfully lightens up and the effort it takes to rub the white powder residue. The benefits definitely outweigh the negatives and I will be purchasing again.

DRYBAR The Kicker Finishing Spray Wax: This is the first texture spray I've ever tried, so I don't have much to compare it to. It was actually a recommendation from a Sephora employee. If you look it up, it has almost 5 stars! I was looking for 2 things in a texture spray: Sustainability in this forsaken Florida humidity and dummy proof for someone who considers themselves hair incompetent. It was one of those things- kept up in humid weather. The problem was, the spray can. It just wouldn't spray properly in my hands. It would spray almost like shaving cream instead of hair spray, so it wasn't easy to get the product out. When I did get the product out, I would find it all over my bathroom counter and floor and was only left with a micro dollop on my hand. I hope you can sense my frustration. What sucks the most is it did what I expected in a texture spray. It was lightweight and enhanced my waves by giving me that piecey look I was wanting. It also held up after walking around outside.

I figured my can was defective, so I went back to Sephora to swap for a new can. BUT when I went to test a new can to make my exchange, a Sephora employee came at me and said I couldn't test a new can. In other circumstances I can understand, but the reason I was exchanging it was because my can was defective! I don't have time to come to the mall to make another exchange. My plan was to take the can I was testing anyways, but she said I couldn't test it out. So, I went ahead and just returned it. Shame on me for not going to be my usual Sephora. I ended up going to Aventura Mall since I hadn't been in over a year. I might have gone off tangent, but the product is worth trying at your own will lol
Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in color Clique: I love trying out new lip colors since a pop of color on your lips can make an outfit. AND I'm so happy I tried this color on a whim because this is what I call a "HOLY GRAIL" product! The color alone is the prettiest shade of red pink. The lipstick is very pigmented and it's lasting power is crazy good. The thing that has me a devoted fan is the fact that it's a matte lipstick, but isn't drying. It doesn't extenuate cracked lips that most matte lipsticks do. It's also easy to apply because of the slim shape so no need for a lip pencil. This product is 100% amazing in my book!

Dr. Jart+ Sheet Mask Water Replenishment Cotton: When it comes to masks, I have learn to have low expectations. A lot of masks come with a lot of promises they can't keep. BUT this mask delivered on it's benefits which were to be moisturizing and help reducing redness AND it did both! I have fair, sensitive skin, so a lot of masks can be strong and lead to a bad reaction. Thankfully, this one was great! It had a nice cooling affect and I love the "no mess" after math of taking off a sheet mask. You just take the mask off and rub the product in. No need to rinse your face. The results had me waking up to a more even skin tone and no dry patches in sight. My only con can be that I'm sure there are other sheet masks that can give you the same results, but at a lower price point. Not really a negative towards the mask, but true.

I hope my review was helpful and encourages you to take the plunge on trying any of these products. To recap, my favorite Sephora haul buys were the lipstick, eye cream & dry shampoo! And just so you know, this is not a sponsored post, I just like to share my honest reviews on products because I myself buy things based off reviews.

Now it's your turn to share your favorite beauty products with me! Leave me a comment with your "Holy Grail" product.
