Like most people, I like to try out new things. I tend to only try new hair or skin products when I finish through what I have. It's better for my wallet and less overwhelming than seeing an influx of half used products. With the extra time I have with Quarantine (NOT, I'm wring this while the kids are sleeping) I figured why not create a new series of monthly reviews on things I try. I'm going to go as random as sharing snacks, cleaning products, and pretty much anything that I feel is worth sharing. Hopefully you find it useful.
Maelove The Glow Maker; So, this particular serum was popping up all over Instagram and being used by quite a few influential bloggers I like to follow for skincare advice. One being Brooklyn Blondes, Helena. Her review in short was that she didn't hate it, but she didn't love it. Well, I DID NOT LOVE IT. My past experiences with Vitamin C serums were that they made my skin look plump, helped with hydration and helped with my skin discoloration. This one did none of those things. It also made my skin oily and I actually broke out. I will say the Maelove customer service is great. You have 100 calendar days to try out their serum and if doesn't work, you can receive a full refund.
Price point is what had me pull the trigger, but for that I will go back to using Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum. It does all those good things I mentioned and it's under $30.

Floerns Square Neck Puff Sleeve Top; I'm not one to jump on the fast fashion band wagon because of how much ends up in landfills, but this top was something I wouldn't necessarily pick out, and I figured whats the harm in spending $16. Well, it's my new date night top when all this is over. It's sexy without being too revealing. Only CONS are it's sheer, so you need a good black bra & the quality is meh. It arrived with pulled strings, but I just cut them. You get what you pay for, but it's pretty cute. THUMBS UP
R+Co Sail Soft Wave Spray; I was looking for a wave spray that didn't make my hair feel crunchy and gave my hair volume. Well, this wave spray does just that. It gives my waves that piecey look that I love, and makes my hair look fuller. And right now, I need all the help I can get with this postpartum hair loss. THUMBS UP
R+Co High Dive Moisture Shine Cream; I'm not one to use a conditioner often since I always felt it weighed down my hair and made it greasy. But, I recently learned your hair needs moisture to keep its shine and health. After towel drying my hair, I use a dollop of this, and just focus on my ends. I then blow dry my hair with the Revlon One Step Hair-dryer (which is such a time saver) and the finished results are great. My hair looks so lush and shiny. THUMBS UP
R+Co Sunset Blvd Blonde Shampoo; I recently got blonde highlights and my hair stylist recommended using a purple or blonde shampoo to keep it from getting brassy or yellow. At first try I was not liking this shampoo. My highlights didn't pop and they looked dull. But, after trying it out again and leaving it in my hair for 5 min before rinsing, it made a big difference. My highlights looked bright even wet, so I knew it worked this time, but my hair felt dry and hard to brush after. Ultimately, NOT A FAN. I prefer Matrix Purple Shampoo; it makes my highlights pop and my hair can be easily combed after.
All R+Co products were gifted
& to end this with a very random item.....
Good Foods Queso Style Dip; this year I've been trying to reduce my diary consumption to a bare minimum. I also have been incorporating vegan meals and snacks throughout my week just for overall healthy eating. So, when I found this vegan dip at Aldi's, I figured why not try it. Well, i've bought it 5x now and I hope it always stays in stock. It's creamy, has such a fresh taste (not an artificial taste like you get from queso in a jar) and it's filled with all natural ingredients, so no need to feel guilty. It's nice to find healthy alternatives, but it's nicer when you end up loving it. THUMBS UP
I've also tried their Creamy Cilantro Dip and it's like the Pollo Tropical cilantro garlic sauce, but without all the fat. Check their site to see where you can find the dips in your area.
Well this was fun!
